I am reading a book called 'Eat, Sleep, Cycle', by Anna Hughes, about her 4,000 mile cycle ride around the entire coast of the UK . I have to say that I am fine with the eat and sleep, but the cycle is definitely not for me!
However, I am enjoying her descriptions of many of my favourite places along the coast, and her comments and reflections are making me think. 'Had I held my course for just one more junction, I would have seen the red on blue route number.... but I lost my nerve and started up a track across a field.' The author stopped trusting the directions she had set out with, and by trying to go a different way simply ended up lost.
There are times in our lives when we doubt the faith road we are on, and sometimes it is right to change direction. But often, if we just hold on and keep going, faithful in prayer and with our trust in God, we may find the next directional sign just ahead. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." Psalm 32:8
